Biography

There is a process that takes place in my work incorporating photography, digital media, and paint that resolves itself in my technique: taking what exists, subtly manipulating and reconstructing it to a new resolution. Magnifying, clarifying, framing, and then distorting to remove superfluous details. Rather than seeking to re-produce via realism or hyper-realism, I take the resolution down in order to focus the viewer on the universal.

This is gratifying not only as an artistic practice but also as an evolution within myself. We are ever changing beings, but realism can create stagnation by permanently fixing a moment of time without room for change.

Through my technique I feel a living instigating effect that keeps movement, change and style flowing in the subject that allows room for multiple interpretations. I desire this room for growth and to further explore my style and love for process within the discovery involved in every work that I take on.
